Lawrence Wright is an author, screenwriter, playwright, and has been a staff writer for The New Yorker magazine since 1992. His most notable film was the 1998 drama “The Siege,” starring Denzel Washington, which eerily prefigured the events of 9/11. He is the author of ten books of nonfiction and one novel. His book, “The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11,” won a number of awards, including the Pulitzer Prize. His latest book, “God Save Texas,” was a New York Times bestseller. Wright is also the keyboard player in the Austin, Texas-based blues band, WhoDo.
