Peter Canellos is Politico’s editor at large, overseeing investigations and projects throughout its websites and platforms. He is formerly Politico’s executive editor, having overseen the 2016 presidential election, and editorial page editor of The Boston Globe, where he also served as DC bureau chief and Metro Editor. In his various positions, he has personally overseen and edited six Pulitzer Prize finalists and two Pulitzer-winning projects. He is a past winner of the ASNE writing award and editor of “Last Lion: The Fall and Rise of Ted Kennedy,” a top-10 New York Times bestseller. Throughout his career, he has been a teacher and mentor to scores of younger journalists, and oversees the IWMF/Elizabeth Neuffer fellowship, which gives a woman journalist from around the world a chance to study at MIT and intern at the Boston Globe and New York Times.
