Susan is Dean of HBKU’s College of Law, which prepares its graduates to work in dynamic areas affecting Qatar and the MENA region, particularly as they relate to international and comparative law. A long-time member of the American Society of International Law (ASIL), she has been its vice- president and currently sits on the ASIL Executive Council. She is also a trustee of the Center for American and International Law (CAIL).
Susan is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Council on Germany. Her previous positions include Provost and Chief Academic Officer, American University of Sharjah; Associate Dean for International and Comparative Legal Studies, The George Washington University Law School; and Partner, Locke Lord LLP (Dallas).
